'Four killed' in Germany siege
At least three people taken hostage by a gunman in the German city of Karlsruhe have been killed, police say. The hostage-taker is probably also dead, according to police. A man was facing eviction on Wednesday morning after not having paid his rent for several months.
Abbas calls for Arafat death investigation
Mahmoud Abbas, the Palestinian president, sees no reason why Yasser Arafat's body should not be exhumed following an Al Jazeera report that he may have died of poisoning, his spokesman said on Wednesday. Nabil Abu Rudeinah said that the Palestinian Authority would use "Arab and international scientific expertise" to review the findings.
